The photo workshop was fun and incredibly informative for the students & the adults on our team. Dani is excellent, and we are lucky to have access to someone with expertise in photography *AND* education. Thanks MHS & Dani for hitting this one out of the ballpark!!!

Wow, Larissa, what an articulate post. I think these overarching metaphors (roads taken, not taken) are very important threads to "pull" for our work.
As we are discussing last night's Community Conversation, we are beginning to see the thread
of " coming and going" from centers, hubs, gateways and of central cores grounding diverse
populations and activities. This will help us decide which topics will best fit our overall theme as we continue.

Larissa, you are so kind! We don't always feel like a well-oiled machine, but even when things seems hectic, we pull together and pull it off. I'm so proud of our team and what we have accomplished in the last year. I can't wait to see what this school year brings!

and the marsh metaphor/simile continues.......

MCHP=eggbeater

Just as the marsh is a mixer of nutrients and oxygen for ecological advantages, the MCHP blends the school, library and historical society in a way that benefits the greater community.

students=sponges

And the students will absorb and retain new concepts, materials and methods, like a marsh soaks up excess water caused by runoff and preserves moisture.

Thanks a lot! I'm always looking good info on recorders -- especially ones that would be useful for schools or first time users. I'm glad you checked our site. Best,
