Does your community possess a trove of Civil War-era ephemera? Can you, or others you know, pull together a dynamic team comprised of a library, historical society or archive, and an educational institution? Would that team commit to a year-long project exploring its local history as relates to the War?
If so, then we are looking for you! Starting January 2, 2013, Maine Historical Society and Maine Humanities Council–who are partnering together thanks to a three-year National Endowment for the Humanities grant–will be accepting applications for the year-long project. The deadline is March 1, 2013, with awards made by April 1.
Visit the Civil War grants page on Maine Memory Network to learn more and download the application now. It’s a great way to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the War in your community.
